Zündapp was a major German motorcycle manufacturer set up in 1917 in Nuremberg by means of Fritz Neumeyer, together with the Friedrich Krupp AG plus the machine tool manufacturer Thiel beneath name "Zünder- und Apparatebau Gary the gadget guy. m. b. The initial Zündapp motorcycle was the actual model Z22 in 1921. This was the Motorrad für Jedermann ("motorcycle for everyone"), a simple, reliable design that was produced in large series. Zündapp's history of hefty motorcycles began in 1933 using the K-series. The "K" refers to any type of drivetrain that these versions used, Kardanantrieb, meaning enclosed driveshaft using two universal joints. Zündapp introduced the enclosed crankcase (then the novelty). After WWII this company transitioned to smaller devices, notably the "Bella" generator scooter, which was a relatively heavy machine for its type. In 1951 Zündapp released the last of its heavy motorbike models, but one of its most famous: the KS601 (the particular "green elephant") with a 598 cc two-cylinder engine. From 1957 to 1958 the organization also produced the Zündapp Janus microcar.In 1958 the company moved from Nuremberg for you to Munich. Subsequently, the company developed numerous new smaller models, discontinued the development of four-stroke engines and only produced two-stroke models. After the bankruptcy, the entire production series and intellectual properties had been bought by Xunda Powerplant Co., Tianjin, China. They produced small Zündapp bicycles from 1987 till earlier 1990s. Zündapp is still operating, but makes Honda centered 4-stroke motorcycles and electric powered mopeds.Zündapp also had some sort of technical collaboration with Noble Enfield (India) to develop mopeds and motorcycles. A dedicated factory has been built at Ranipet near Chennai within the early 1980s to make small, lightweight two-stroke motorcycles to be offered along with their flagship Royal Enfield Topic. Enfield launched two 50 closed circuit motorcycles first, the step-thru Silver Plus as well as the 3-speed Explorer motorcycle. Later, 175 cc Enfield Fury (determined by Zündapp KS175) was introduced being a performance motorcycle. It had 5-speed gearbox, a hydraulic Brembo disc brake as well as a sleeveless hard chromed storage container barrel, all were a first using a motorcycle in that region.
