Zündapp was an important German motorcycle manufacturer founded in 1917 in Nuremberg by Fritz Neumeyer, together with the Friedrich Krupp AG plus the machine tool manufacturer Thiel beneath the name "Zünder- und Apparatebau Gary the gadget guy. m. b. The initial Zündapp motorcycle was the actual model Z22 in 1921. Coming from 1931 Ferdinand Porsche and also Zündapp developed the prototype Vehicle für Jedermann ("car intended for everyone"), which was the very first time that the name Volkswagen was used. After WWII the organization transitioned to smaller machines, notably the "Bella" electric motor scooter, which was a relatively heavy machine to its type. In 1951 Zündapp released the final of its heavy bike models, but one of its most well-known: the KS601 (the actual "green elephant") using a 598 cc two-cylinder motor. Zündapp is still running a business, but makes Honda dependent 4-stroke motorcycles and power mopeds.Zündapp also had the technical collaboration with Noble Enfield (India) to develop mopeds and motorcycles. A dedicated factory ended up being built at Ranipet near Chennai inside early 1980s to manufacture small, lightweight two-stroke motorcycles to be offered with their flagship Royal Enfield Topic.
