The primary Zündapp motorcycle was this model Z22 in 1921. This was the Motorrad für Jedermann ("motorcycle for everyone"), a simple, reliable design that was produced in large series. From 1931 Ferdinand Porsche and Zündapp developed the prototype Vehicle für Jedermann ("car regarding everyone"), which was the first time the name Volkswagen has been used. Following bankruptcy, the entire production line and intellectual properties was bought by Xunda Powerplant Co., Tianjin, China. They produced small Zündapp motorcycles from 1987 till earlier 1990s. Zündapp is still operational, but makes Honda centered 4-stroke motorcycles and electric powered mopeds.Zündapp also had the technical collaboration with Noble Enfield (India) to create mopeds and motorcycles. A dedicated factory seemed to be built at Ranipet near Chennai inside early 1980s to manufacture small, lightweight two-stroke motorcycles to be offered with their flagship Royal Enfield Topic. Enfield launched two 50 cc motorcycles first, the step-thru Silver Plus plus the 3-speed Explorer motorcycle. Later, 175 cc Enfield Fury (dependant on Zündapp KS175) was introduced as being a performance motorcycle. It had 5-speed gearbox, a hydraulic Brembo disc brake along with a sleeveless hard chromed cyndrical tube barrel, all were a first on the motorcycle in that region.
